According to the information released by the Ministry of Land and Resources of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period, the recovery rate of coal resources in Inner Mongolia increased by more than 30%, and the average annual coal resource savings exceeded 40 million tons.
According to reports, in the past five years, the integration of coal resources in Inner Mongolia and the ordering of coal mining development have been at the forefront of the country. The previous round of resource integration work has been basically completed, and the coal mining rights enterprises have been reduced from the original 1300 to the current 598. The average production capacity of enterprises with mining rights has increased from less than 90,000 tons per year to 1.2 million tons per year, and the level of mine mechanization has reached 90%. While the number of coal mines has been greatly reduced, Inner Mongolia’s coal production capacity has increased by about 200 million tons.
The reporter learned that while the recovery rate of coal mine resources has increased substantially, the iron ore processing plant in Inner Mongolia and non-metal downstream processing enterprises have decreased by about 30% in 2006, and non-ferrous metal and precious metal concentrators have also reduced by 20%. Associated mineral ability increased by 10%. Through industrial restructuring and resource integration, the distribution of mining rights in Inner Mongolia has become more rational, the structure of mining enterprises has been significantly optimized, and the level of intensive, large-scale and sustainable use of mineral resources has been comprehensively improved.
