1. The working principle of the floating seal. In the crusher of the Jiuyi shearer, the floating seal is mainly composed of a metal seal and a rubber O-ring. Among them, a set of metal sealing rings and rubber O-rings are installed on the sealing base of the frame in the crusher, and another set of sealing rings are placed on the sealing base of the driving head of the crusher. In the specific application process, when the crusher is installed, the two O-rings will be deformed to produce a certain elastic force. In this state, the resistance of the crusher drum will increase when operating. When the mutual frictional resistance between the metal sealing rings is greater than the mutual frictional resistance between the rubber O-rings and the metal sealing ring, the two metal sealing rings will not rotate relative to each other, and the rubber O-rings and metal The sealing ring is relatively operated, so that the rubber O-ring seal will be pulled, worn or even broken during operation.

In order to improve the working efficiency of the shearer crusher, we must take some precautions to reduce the probability of floating seal problems. 1. Control the oil change interval of the crusher. In the specification of the Jiuyi shearer, the oil change intervals of the rocker gearbox of the shearer and the gearbox of the crusher are clearly defined, and their oil change intervals are 250 hours. However, in the actual application process, we found that the lubricating oil in the rocker gearbox in the shearer is still in good condition and the lubrication performance is relatively high when the oil change cycle is reached. However, when the gearbox in the crusher has not reached the oil change cycle, its lubricating oil condition has begun to deteriorate sharply, which seriously affects the normal operation of the crusher. In view of this, based on work experience, we recommend changing the oil change interval of the gearbox in the crusher to about 120 hours, thereby improving the condition of the crusher lubricating oil and avoiding serious damage to the floating seal due to the deterioration of the lubricating oil quality.
2. Make sure there is enough cooling water in the crusher. During the use of the crusher, long-term operation will accelerate the aging of the rubber seal ring and further reduce the quality of the lubricant. Therefore, we need to ensure that there is enough cooling water in the crusher. In addition, we can also make two small holes in the shroud of the crusher drum, so that the cooling water in the crusher can be sprayed onto the drum through the two holes on the drum guard, so that it can play a good dust removal function and avoid dust. Enter the drum of the crusher to avoid damage to the floating seal.
3. Management and maintenance of the shearer crusher. Strengthening the management and maintenance of the crusher is also an important measure to solve the damage of the floating seal. For example, if the shearer is deactivated for a long time, when it starts again, we need to first rotate the drum of the crusher, and then start after the parts of the crusher are well lubricated. In addition, in the daily work of the crusher, we must strengthen the management of the lubricating oil, regularly check the quality of the lubricating oil, and once the problem is found, it should be processed and replaced in time to ensure the safety of the floating seal.
