Wärtsilä new orders in the third quarter decreased net sales by 9% to 1.22 billion euros

Wärtsilä President and CEO Bj?rn Rosengren said, “In the third quarter of this year, with the support of aftermarket growth and L-3 International Marine Systems, our sales increased by 9%. The ship solutions market still has Challenging, the number of ship orders is very low, and the offshore market is also weak, which has affected the acceptance of our orders.” It is reported that Wärtsilä’s goal is to achieve a net sales growth of 5-10% in 2015 and an operating profit increase of 12- 12.5%.

In the ship program business, Wärtsilä's new orders in the third quarter of this year reached 407 million euros, down 12% from 463 million euros in the same period in 2014. Orders in the environmental programme include exhaust gas cleaning systems for three passenger ships and ballast water management systems for 11 container ships. Orders in the gas carrier sector include the installation of a regasification module for the H?egh LNG FSRU vessel in Norway. Orders in the gas carrier sector accounted for 37% of new orders received in the third quarter, orders in the traditional merchant shipping sector accounted for 21%, orders in the cruise ship and ferry sector accounted for 16%, orders in the special ship sector accounted for 9%, and orders for military vessels accounted for 6%. The offshore sector accounts for 5%, and orders in other sectors account for 7%.
