World News reported on June 30th that Canpotex Corporation, a potash fertilizer export union based in Saskatchewan, Canada, announced that it will supply 630,000 tons of potash fertilizer to the Chinese market in the second half of this year. The price per ton will increase by 70 dollars compared to the first half to 470 yuan. USD/ton.
This is Canpotex's three-year memorandum signed with Sinochem Fertilizer. The price agreement was reached for the second time. However, the export volume still maintains a lower limit, reflecting Canpotex's potash supply is relatively tight. According to industry sources, the supply price of Canada is lower than the export prices of Belarus and Brazil to China. It is expected that the balance of supply and demand will be realized in 2012, when potash prices will increase to 600 US dollars/ton.
