On June 14, an expert from the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized an inspection of the project “Development of a portable rapid detection instrument for bird flu virus”, which was hosted by the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and participated in the Institute’s scientific research equipment development program.

Under the auspices of He Hongxuan, a researcher of the Wild Animal Disease Research Group of the Institute of Zoology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and jointly with the researcher of Cui Dafu, Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a new set of equipment including a SPR rapid detection instrument and a bird flu rapid detection biochip was jointly developed. There are 2 national invention patents. After on-site testing by experts, the overall technical level has met the design requirements. The expert group conducted a careful and detailed discussion on the project research report, user test report, and financial statement report through on-site testing and hearing reports. It was considered that the performance of the “portable bird flu virus rapid detection instrument” developed by the project team met the technical requirements of the implementation plan. Indicators, agreed to pass the acceptance.

The project has developed a number of new technologies and has achieved a number of important research results, providing scientific support for the rapid field surveillance of wild animal avian influenza in China. It is also of great significance for the active early warning and active monitoring of wild animal diseases in China.
