Recently, Wärtsilä received a package of two new cruise ships under the US Seabourn Cruise Line, including propulsion, power and automation solutions. 
Two new ships are being built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, where the “Seabourn Encore†has been built and the “Seabourn Ovation†is expected to join the Seabourn fleet in 2018. The navigation and automation system contract for Wärtsilä was signed in December 2015 and engine orders were signed at the end of 2014 and the third quarter of 2015.
In addition, Wärtsilä will supply electric propulsion systems, sonar systems and Nacos Platinum and Valmatic Platinum systems, bridge and main room consoles, detection systems and remote control of valves.
It is reported that each cruise ship will be equipped with 4 Wärtsilä 32 engines, 2 sets of 6 MW low noise diesel-electric propulsion devices, and innovative inverter design and redundant arrangement, 4 bow and stern thrusters, 4 sets. Diesel generator set, 4 propeller motors, 4 propeller AC motors, 2 6.6 kV high voltage switchboards, 4 low voltage power transformers.
