The Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently made a breakthrough in the preparation of catalysts for the asymmetric hydrogenation of aryl ketones. For the first time, researchers have combined non-chiral phosphines with rigid chiral cyclic diamines designed and synthesized by themselves to produce a new type of catalyst. Chiral ruthenium catalysts were successfully applied to the asymmetric hydrogenation of aryl ketones, resulting in extremely high enantioselectivity and reactivity.
The research results will greatly promote the research and application of simple and practical economical bisphosphine ligands in the enantioselective hydrogenation of ketones, and lay the foundation for the development of highly efficient chiral catalysts with independent intellectual property rights and industrial applications.
