PerkinElmer will establish a personalized health innovation center to be fully operational by the end of the year

On June 7, 2012, PerkinElmer announced that the company will establish a new center of excellence for personalized health innovation. The center will focus on accelerating technological innovation to help those who are working to eliminate disease and prolong life quality and lifespan research.

The mission of the center will be to create new favorable technological developments for scientists and commercialize new diagnostic and therapeutic products. The center is located at PerkinElmer's factory in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The center will have a scale of 350 employees and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2012.

The new center will bring together leaders from R&D teams such as chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and reagents from PerkinElmer. PerkinElmer will use scientific knowledge to develop solutions from in vitro to in vivo, and to promote the development of personalized health solutions in clinical applications. The plant will focus on the collaborative development of application solutions such as genomics, imaging, biomarkers, biotherapeutics, targeted small molecule development, and cell-based detection solutions. It will also become a complete solution based demonstration laboratory.
